Digital Freedom
Try phone-free meals and shared screen boundaries that include grown-ups, too—without turning family time into a screen-time standoff.
Less Screen Time. More Life. Stronger Families.
Kinloom is for households with children ages 6–18 who want to trade some screen time for playful movement, shared meals and meaningful time together. Start with a practical, seven-day family pilot.
A gentle seven-day pilot. No perfect-parenting checklist required.
Your best moments happen offline.
We're here to help you make more of them.
Our founding promises
A little less app. A lot more life.
During the seven-day pilot, households with children ages 6–18 can explore small, flexible activities across five parts of family life.
A sample activity · about 30 minutes
Take a relaxed walk or work on a small project chosen by someone in the family. Let conversation happen naturally—or keep conversation optional. End by planning something fun together.
Make it yours
A seated project or low-impact version counts, too. Adjust the pace and roles so everyone can contribute in a way that feels comfortable.
No score to beat. No big conversation required. Just time on the same team.
Try phone-free meals and shared screen boundaries that include grown-ups, too—without turning family time into a screen-time standoff.
Make room for a playful walk, outdoor adventure or teamwork game, with seated and low-impact ways to take part.
Explore simple meal planning, grocery know-how and cooking together—without restrictive diets or food rules.
Make space for listening and easier conversation through relaxed activities, including low-pressure ways to connect with teens.
Try a shared project, everyday responsibility or practical problem-solving challenge, and notice what you accomplished together.
A week you can start at home
Use this self-guided plan with the family you have and the time you have. No special equipment or account is needed. Shorten, swap, adapt, or skip any activity—the point is to explore more time together, not to complete a perfect week.
Day 1
Digital Freedom · 10 minutes
Pick one meal or short part of the day to set phones aside. Adults join in, too; agree what to do if someone needs their phone.
Make it work for you: If meals are hectic, choose a different routine, like a short game or walk.
Day 2
Movement Through Play · 15–30 minutes
Take a relaxed walk and look for things in a chosen color, or make up a follow-the-leader game. Keep the pace easy and stop whenever you like.
Make it work for you: Stay seated and play a noticing game together, or choose another comfortable way to join.
Day 3
Real Food & Healthy Habits · 15 minutes
Choose a familiar meal using what you already have. Let everyone pick a small role, like choosing a side, rinsing produce, or setting the table.
Make it work for you: A person can choose the meal or music, or simply keep the other cooks company.
Day 4
Real Food & Healthy Habits · 20–45 minutes
Prepare the meal you picked together. Share age-appropriate tasks and enjoy it together if that works for your household.
Make it work for you: Choose a helper role that feels comfortable; joining the meal is enough.
Day 5
Trust & Communication · 20–30 minutes
Take a relaxed walk or work on a small project chosen by one family member. Let conversation happen naturally, or keep it optional.
Make it work for you: Try a seated project, puzzle, or low-impact version so everyone can take part their own way.
Day 6
Family Teamwork & Life Skills · 15–30 minutes
Pick a manageable shared task, like sorting a game shelf or planning a fun evening. Decide together who wants to do each part.
Make it work for you: Choose a role that suits each person—doing, directing, or keeping company all count.
Day 7
A little of everything · 10 minutes
Invite everyone to name one thing they enjoyed—or pass. Choose one small offline moment you might like to repeat next week.
Make it work for you: No scorekeeping or perfect streak needed; stopping here is fine, too.
A week to try what fits
Across seven days, try a phone-free meal, a playful movement break, a simple meal to make together, an easy conversation starter or a small team project. Choose what works for your household; these are ideas to explore, not rules or guaranteed outcomes.
